Property Oso website is now equipped with a new header design, search system, featured properties slideshow as well as our Smooth Step Real Estate Software with custom MilenioPlus XML feed importer.
Property Oso real estate company offers sale and rental properties in Marbella and other areas in Costa del Sol. We were requested to perform two major website upgrades: redesign website header implementing a new search system and import properties from Milenio Plus real estate XML feed.
Property OSO team were not not happy with their old search system design, it had flaws in both functionality and appearance. We have redesigned website header simplifying search on the home page and developed a complex search system which updated property type and price dropdowns depending on available properties in selected area.
Firstly, we have mapped their existing property fields with their equivalents in MilenioPlus XML feed, this was necessary to keep the upgrade cost efficient by maintaining their existing property search functionality.
MilenioPlus XML feed offers many more fields that were not supported by their property software. To import and handle them we have installed our Smooth Step Real Estate Wordpress Plugin and configured it to handle all the extra fields.
When editing property in Wordpress backend our software creates a third column with all the extra fields. Some of them are numeric, others are dropdowns linked to their corresponding taxonomies.
On website frontend all the extra fields are listed in well designed columns optimized for mobile and tablet support.
Our real estate XML feed importer runs from Wordpress backend. With each step it reads one property from the MilenioPlus XML feed, extracts its fields and photos, checks if the property already exists and creates or updates real estate object page which is then editable from Wordpress.
We had to develop a custom code to automatically download real estate photos, resize and register them to imported property page.
During the import SmoothStep real estate feed importer also fills all the dropdown lists with their existing values. Real estate software in property OSO website has property areas as individual pages, our XML importer performs database search to locate a correct property area page to each real estate object, creates a new area page is none were found and links it to each property.
Old property Oso real estate site had a few bugs which were resolved. We have also optimized its performance to improve load times - the site is now blazing fast, Google PageSpeed Insights reports 98% optimization for desktop devices.
